A: Though certifications differ between medical doctors, physician assistants, and certified nurse practitioners, all are qualified and licensed to provide care for men, women, and children in a primary care setting.
Q: What is the difference between an Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) and a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)?
A: An OBGYN is a medical doctor who provides care to women specializing in reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth. A CNM is an advanced practice nurse who provides care to women and specializes in reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth though is not licensed to perform surgeries of specialty procedures. A CNM also sees newborns through 6 weeks old as part of postpartum care.
Q: Can I receive treatment for specific conditions like endometriosis, menopause, or infertility at your clinics?
A: Yes, our Women’s Health clinic located on Pine Street can provide treatment for any of these conditions. Our front desk staff can help to direct you to a provider that fits your needs.
